The epidemic of “deferred maintenance” is not limited to government institutions. Facilities managers, engineers, and maintenance directors in myriad industries struggle to fund major maintenance initiatives. Due to the recession and other historical factors related to facilities operations, facilities executives are increasingly asked by senior management to “defer” replacement major equipment & hardware to enable the organization to financially squeeze thru tough times. These decisions come with a price.

While preventive maintenance software is not a panacea to these maintenance woes, when properly implemented, preventive maintenance software plans can extend the life key organizational assets, and pinpoint critical maintenance tasks. The Coherent Equipment Maintenance System enables organizations to develop real world maintenance plans that enable organizations to make the most of their facilities portfolios. To assist facilities executives with understanding the true nature of their equipment portfolio, we have enhanced Coherent to provide daily dashboards that “watch” equipment along key performance metrics including cost, age, condition, and breakdown analysis. These metrics enable facilities executives to both pinpoint potential problem areas and recommend the proper action plan.
